Brimming with musical raw meat, this is audio for those who dance round the volcanic rim, where one wrong move could mean an eternity shared with Mr Bunsen! Brutal, menacing, brooding and dangerous would be my descriptives of the feels this album radiates, all over-arched by musicianship and songwriting of the highest quality. Stand-out toons for me include ‘John Baker’ (an epic builder, an ebb-er & flow-er with real impact), ‘Drink Some More’ (every album should have a song about falling over), ‘Awake’ (a pain-filled, bleak, relationship summariser that universally resonates) and ‘Gotta Try’ (again, a universal tale of all our stories of navigating life’s awkward moments in our own way in order just to survive). Every track on the album feels lived-in, all are of the human condition, all contain relatable elements of everyday-ism...marry those up with the quality playing on offer and you’ve got an album really going places! It’s been well worth the wait gents!"
